Nigerian Priest Dies by Suicide Before Forced Return to Africa

Father Benjamin Okwy Madu, 54, a Nigerian Catholic priest serving in the Archdiocese of Boston, died by suicide on July 2.
The tragic sin happened weeks before his U.S. religious-worker visa expired and he was required to return to Nigeria.
He had served as a hospital chaplain and a weekend Mass celebrant for a parish collective on Cape Ann.
An email message on behalf of Archbishop Richard Henning said the priest “tragically took his own life.”
Friends and parishioners said the prospect of leaving America deeply distressed him. "I sensed he was afraid of something. He never would communicate what it was." — George Lieser, parishioner at St. Joachim Church, told ACI Africa on July 14.
Days before his death, he reportedly suffered a panic attack on his way to celebrate Mass.
In a farewell letter, he admitted that returning to Nigeria was "not my wish," but said circumstances beyond his control had ended his ministry in the United States.

Suicide is never permited, true, unless... THE only cases ARE when Almighty Father MAY grant Mercy to those with Clinical evidence.
There are some illneses like for example acumulation of lewy bodies in the brain (Robin Williams is one case as example) replication of dna like huntigton's disease... The individual, clinically speaking, dont have rationality when their brains are compromised biologically with strange and weird diseases. Again, God is the Righteous and Ultimate Judge, He may or may not take that into account, but it is more likely than not that He will. I surrender to His Might and Divine and Just Mercy as He knows best.

Conservative US bishop calls FSSPX just another Protestant sect: In a YouTube video posted on 13 July, conservative Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield in Illinois, USA, said that the main problem with the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X is their defiance of papal authority. 'By disobeying the Pope and rejecting the teachings of the Second Vatican Council, the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X has essentially become another Protestant sect that believes it is right and the Pope is wrong.' Monsignor Paprocki also noted that, while there are currently 53,000 Christian denominations, Christ founded only one Church.

Woman Stabbed During Morning Rosary at Irish Church

On Tuesday, a woman in her 50s was seriously injured after being stabbed during the morning Rosary at Holy Cross Church in Tramore, Co. Waterford, Ireland.
The attack occurred at around 9:45 a.m., shortly before the church's 10 a.m. Mass. Parishioners quickly intervened and alerted emergency services. The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested an Irish man in his 30s at a nearby house. According to Irish reports, the suspect was not known to the victim but was known to police. The parish priest, Fr. Richard O'Halloran, described the attack as "random in nature."
"It has been a very shocking event," Fr. O'Halloran said. "The people and my colleague who was there at the time responded wonderfully well. All the emergency services were called, and they looked after everything."
In a statement, the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore said it was "deeply shocked" by the violence.

Bellaigue's Benedictine Monks Falling Apart: Alleged Revolt - Kidnapping Investigation

The monk who disappeared during the night of June 23–24 from Notre-Dame de Bellaigue Abbey in central France was Dom Placide Dumas, prior of the monastery.
His absence was discovered at Matins the following morning. More than two days later, he was found injured in the neighboring department of Haute-Vienne. French prosecutors opened an investigation for kidnapping and unlawful confinement.
French media report that he was found bearing injuries consistent with an assault, although authorities have not disclosed the nature of his injuries or explained how he came to be in Haute-Vienne.
Eleven monks allegedly attempted to take control of the monastery on the same night that Dom Placide disappeared.
An email sent from Dom Placide's account announced his resignation as prior. Investigators are trying to determine whether he wrote it voluntarily, under duress, or whether someone else sent it. They also reportedly found his room completely emptied and carefully cleaned, suggesting his departure …More

Scottish Bishop expands Latin Mass Provision Ahead of Illicit Episcoal Consecration

Bishop Hugh Gilbert of Aberdeen, Scotland, issued a pastoral letter on Saturday ahead of the planned episcopal consecration of Fr. Michael Mary, F.SS.R., superior general and founder of the Transalpine Redemptorists. The "consecration" is scheduled to take place on July 25 on Papa Stronsay in Orkney. It is performed by three Sedevacantist "bishops" from the Americas.
Bishop Gilbert said the consecration would constitute an act of schism. He compared it with the July 1 consecration of four bishops by the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X.
The bishop noted that the planned consecration directly concerns the Diocese of Aberdeen because Papa Stronsay lies within its geographical boundaries.
At the same time, Bishop Gilbert expanded the provision of the Mass in the Roman rite at the Church of Our Lady of the Garioch and St. John the Evangelist in Fetternear. The Mass, previously offered once a month, will now be celebrated every Sunday.

Leo XIV is about to ACQUIT Father Rupnik: MessaInLatino.it reports that the Vatican's canonical trial of Fr. Marko Ivan Rupnik - who was accused by around three dozen (!) female victims of sexual and psychological abuse - has concluded with a favourable outcome for him. If confirmed, this would be further evidence of the deeply flawed Vatican justice system and against the role of Cardinal Tucho Fernández, who managed the trial and its personnel. The case has also long fuelled online speculation that Rupnik possessed compromising information about senior Vatican figures.

Vatican News Documentary Blocked Following RAI Copyright Claim: The Vatican has blocked access to its documentary Leone a Roma after a copyright claim involving Italy's public broadcaster, RAI. A notice on VaticanNews.va stated that the video had been made unavailable due to content claimed by RAI. The documentary recounts Leo XIV's years in Rome prior to his election, and was produced by the Dicastery for Communication, which has been criticised for its incompetence and high costs. This incident is notable because the Vatican and RAI have a long-standing partnership in broadcasting and media production. The reason for the copyright claim has not yet been publicly clarified.

Tornielli’s copyright double standards: Rai pulls Vatican News documentary

Vatican City - For months, Andrea Tornielli has been waging his own private war over copyright, using it above all to make life difficult for those who report on what goes on inside the Dicastery for Communication. The result is farcical. YouTube has blocked the film following a copyright claim by Rai. The Vatican News page now carries the message: “Video unavailable. As part of a paid visitor route, the project will create a new external walkway around the dome, while former storage rooms are being converted into exhibition spaces, further commercialising St Peter's Basilica. The project's costs are undisclosed. The contractor is Lunghi Srl of Assisi, which is noteworthy because Cardinal Mauro Gambetti also hails from Assisi. While harpies great and small crowd around the Dome of St Peter’s, busily speculating about Mauro Gambetti’s possible appointment to an Italian diocese and the arrival at the Basilica of yet another archbishop cast aside by the Vatican establishment, the Franciscan cardinal continues undisturbed with his work of wrecking the Vatican Basilica. On 19 July, from Menzingen, Switzerland, Fr Davide Pagliarani, Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX), issued another pastoral letter published on LaPorteLatine.org justifying the illicit consecration of bishops against the will of Pope Leo XIV. Key phrases (full letter below).

- "This condemnation, wholly unjust, represents an immense humiliation for people whose only desire is to defend the true Faith and to labor for the salvation of souls."

Cardinal Gambetti Expected to Leave St. Peter's Basilica: According to AdVaticanum, Cardinal Mauro Gambetti is expected to step down as Archpriest of St. Peter's Basilica by the end of the summer and become Archbishop of Chieti, a move seen as a demotion. The report attributes the change to Gambetti's fatigue after several demanding years, as well as controversies over security incidents at the basilica, administrative reforms, and other disputes. It also says his close association with Father Enzo Fortunato, who faced criticism over the World Children's Day initiative, weakened his position.

Exclusive: Why Cardinal Gambetti is expected to leave St Peter’s Basilica | Advaticanum

AdVaticanum can confirm that Cardinal Gambetti is expected to leave his position as Archpriest of St Peter’s Basilica later this summer. AdVaticanum sources in the Vatican have confirmed that he is expected to move to the Archdiocese of Chieti. While this will not come as a surprise to many Vatican watchers, as Archbishop Bruno Forte is already beyond the customary retirement age, the move is nonetheless notable. Although Chieti is a metropolitan archdiocese, it has not traditionally been a cardinalatial see and is relatively small. As such, the appointment could reasonably be interpreted as a demotion for Cardinal Gambetti. Sources close to Cardinal Gambetti say he feels burnt out after his time at St Peter’s and that a move away from Rome may suit him. They added: “He doesn’t like the spotlight.” AdVaticanum understands that when Pope Leo initially reconfirmed office holders, Gambetti’s appointment was extended for only six months.
