The young admiral took the picture aboard his flagship when he assumed command of a flotilla of ships sailing from Genoa to the Gulf of Lepanto." The Battle of Lepanto was fought on October 7, 1571, and it is said that during the battle, "Doria went to his cabin and knelt in prayer before the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe." A Hungarian priest has apologised after criticising Prime Minister Péter Magyar’s Tisza party and its supporters. Rev. Zoltán Osztie made the remarks during a Eucharist in Feldebrő on 26 September. He described Tisza as an “unbelieving, immoral and traitorous” political force. He added that Christians who vote for the party “understand nothing” of the Gospel. The Archdiocese of Esztergom-Budapest criticised the priest’s comments. It claimed insulting or labelling people because of their political views is not in line with Christian teaching. Church authorities formally warned Rev. Osztie and asked him to remove the video of the sermon from parish websites and social media. He was also told to avoid similar statements in the future. Effeminate New York Archbishop - appointed by Leo XIV - abuses Cathedral for secular light show. St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan is being transformed into a ticketed immersive light-show venue. LUMINISCENCE debuted September 30, covering the cathedral’s walls, columns and ceiling with 360° animated projections. The 45-minute show includes choir, orchestra and narration. It opened to the public October 1, with performances scheduled on select dates through the end of 2026. Archbishop Ronald Hicks of New York personally introduced the show. I read as far as I could, before my email address was required. Maybe the part of the article I didn't access says something about Vitamin D damaging the kidneys. But, many of us found out the hard way that taking mega-doses of Vitamin D to enhance immunity to all of the coronavirus variants that were going around a few years ago, wasn't such a great idea. In my case, a timely blood test alerted me to the problem. I immediately stopped taking Vitamin D and my kidney function returned to normal. (Whew that was close!)

A 17-year-old Dutch girl was killed by euthanasia after doctors concluded that she was experiencing “unbearable and hopeless psychological suffering”. Milou Verhoof died on 2 October 2023 after suffering from mental-health problems for years and undergoing repeated treatments. Her case was later examined by the Netherlands’ Regional Euthanasia Review Committees, which found that the doctor had complied with the country’s legal requirements for euthanasia. Because Milou was 17, her parents had to be involved in the decision-making process, although Dutch law did not require their consent. Her parents ultimately supported her "decision". The case later drew objections from fourteen doctors, mostly psychiatrists, who asked prosecutors to examine aspects of her euthanasia, including questions about her capacity to decide and possible influence from those around her.
