On February 26, the German Bishops’ Conference voted to formally ask the Vatican to approve the preaching of laypeople during the Eucharist. Lay preaching is already so widespread in Germany that it is practically impossible to be employed as a pastoral assistant without engaging in it. As usual, the bishops are seeking to regularize what is already a widespread abuse.

It is called Queenhithe, established by Alfred the Great in the 9th century. It was later named after Queen Matilda, wife of Henry I. It was once London’s primary port for foodstuffs such as grain and fish in the medieval period. It is a scheduled ancient monument and it is worth adding that are not allowed onto the foreshore here as it is protected.
