Leo XIV Accepts Secularised Mitre as Gift: Rev. Tom McCarthy, a Chicago priest and fellow Augustinian, gave Leo XIV a Chicago White Sox “Pope Hat” at the Vatican. The mitre-shaped hat was originally produced en masse by the Chicago White Sox baseball team as a giveaway for their August 11 game. Leo XIV has been a White Sox fan since childhood and attended Game 1 of the 2005 World Series.

Worse than Germany: A contemporary dance and sound performance was incorporated into the celebration of the Solemnity of the Assumption at the Church of Sant Joan Baptista in Muro, Mallorca. It was entitled El Vol Màgic (“The Magic Flight”). According to the Diocese of Mallorca, the work was “conceived specifically for the liturgical context of the celebration of the Assumption of the Mother of God.” The project was directed by a musician and developed together with a dancer and choreographer, an organist, and a sound specialist.
