Cracking the Code: 7 Keys to Finding the Right Spouse: COMMENTARY: Finding the right person to marry takes more than attraction or shared interests. Catholic wisdom offers a path to discerning a lifelong partnership rooted in faith, virtue and self-giving love.

Let me say something about this “Mass of Welcome” being advertised by Ateneo de Manila University, a Catholic university run by the Jesuits. And before anyone jumps into the comments with “Oh, Jesuits again,” yes, I know. We have heard the jokes, the criticisms, and the debates about the Jesuits a thousand times already. But let us put that aside for a moment and get to the actual issue here, because this is not simply about whether a particular group of people should be allowed to enter a Catholic church. Of course they can. The Catholic Church is not a private club reserved for people who have their lives perfectly together. Every sinner is invited to come to Christ. Every human being, regardless of background, temptation, struggle, or personal circumstances, possesses inherent dignity and is called to seek the mercy of God. Nobody should be told that they are beyond the reach of God’s love. Nobody should be treated with cruelty, mocked, humiliated, or denied the opportunity to hear …More

Fifty years. Fifty-seven tours. One man who never ran out of jokes. It started in Eltham, a district in the southeast of London, on May 29, 1903. The baby was named Leslie Townes Hope. The world would later know him simply as Bob. The England he was born into was ruled by King Edward VII. The airplane had not been invented yet. When he was four years old, his family crossed the Atlantic and settled in the United States. They made their home near Cleveland, Ohio, a busy industrial city, and that is where he grew up. Nothing about his path was a straight line. In the late 1910s he spent a short time as a boxer. By the early 1920s he had found the stage, working as a comedian and dancer on the vaudeville circuit before moving on to Broadway. Vaudeville was a demanding school. An act either landed or it did not, and the next performer was waiting in the wings. A room like that teaches a young entertainer to be quick, and quick became his trademark. Radio and film arrived in 1934. Over the …More

"They are exacerbating real problems and turning them into social unrest by using young people who may already be experiencing social hardship and are easily influenced as their foot soldiers. They fill their heads with slogans that they then parrot, all in the name of a ‘stolen future’."
WHITE SMOKE 1958 –80– BEFORE and DURING In 1956, Pius XII asked Cardinal Siri to come to Rome: the Pope saw him as a potential successor, and no doubt wished to entrust him with high-level responsibilities within the Curia beforehand; but Siri declined the invitation, and Pius XII did not press the matter. Before the 1958 conclave, Siri was asked to accept the papacy should he be elected; according to Father Spiazzi, Siri feared he might be designated to succeed Pius XII: ‘In 1958,’ he told Father Spiazzi, ‘I was asked, with authority, for my prior consent. I replied no. ’ And this is where the scenario begins, since in fact he did accept the election, as the white smoke attested. How could this have happened? The answer is simple: wanting not to be elected is one thing—as Saint Pius X experienced—and then finding oneself in the reality of the conclave is quite another. Saint Pius X understood this well, for he accepted the election and did not go back on his ‘Yes’, whereas Siri-Benedict …More
French prefect bans FSSPX street processions in Lourdes over "security concerns". The prefecture of Hautes-Pyrénées has banned two processions by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X on October 24–25, citing a terrorist threat and security concerns. The annual Christ the King pilgrimage, expected to draw several thousand faithful, included a torchlight procession and a Blessed Sacrament procession with Benediction and a blessing of the sick. Bishop Jean-Marc Micas has barred FSSPX celebrations inside the sanctuary. Organizers have arranged Masses at Maison Saint-Ignace instead.
On Sunday, after the riots, France 2 aired a 12-minute report titled "In the Heart of the Violence" that showed, with very little narration—simply mesmerizing scenes of the great violence from Saturday's riots.

Leo XIV’s doctors have given the Pope the all clear, and confirmed that he will not require any more treatment for his lung cancer: “The final histopathology and molecular testing reports on the tissue removed during the Holy Father's surgery were issued today. The results confirmed that the tumor was a lung adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized. A subsequent oncological assessment has confirmed that no further treatment is necessary.”
