Another Vatican appointment for Montse Alvarado: Leo XIV puts the future head of Vatican communications on the board of his new “Fratello Sole” Foundation - even as her digital record at EWTN offers little to celebrate. Today, Leo XIV appointed Maria Montserrat “Montse” Alvarado as a member of the Board of Directors of the Vatican’s newly established Fratello Sole Foundation. She becomes the third member of its three-person governing board. Alvarado is due to take office as Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication on November 1. She is divorced and received a Church annulment of her marriage. She is not a theologian and has attracted attention for arguing in 2022 that Jews should not be converted to Christianity. Women Taking Over the Vatican Leo XIV established the Fratello Sole Foundation in June to oversee an agrivoltaic project intended ultimately to meet the electricity needs of Vatican City State. The three-member board now consists of: - Sister Raffaella Petrini, President of …Ibindi

The International Theological Commission's new document presents panentheism as an 'interpretive framework' for understanding God as 'intimately present in every aspect of reality'. It explicitly contrasts this with classical theism. @Gaetano Masciullo argues that this positive portrayal of panentheism obscures the Catholic distinction between Creator and creation and risks normalising pantheistic theology.
The Vatican’s International Theological Commission has just given a positive hearing to panentheism (the idea that creation exists “in God” so is also Divine).
St. Thomas Aquinas asks whether human happiness can consist in wealth. In everyday terms, he is examining whether having money and possessions can be what truly fulfills us and makes us happy, or whether happiness must be found in something deeper and more lasting than material goods.
The history class “The Catholic Intellectual Tradition” has become one of Yale’s most popular courses. Last spring, it attracted 85 students - up from just 13 a decade ago. The course explores two millennia of Catholic thought, from early Christianity and medieval mysticism to debates about war, philosophy and modern life. It has even reportedly attracted more students than long-standing Yale favourites such as “The Birth of Europe” and “The Roman Empire”. This boom comes at a time when universities are debating cuts to the humanities.
PLACE YOUR COMMENTS IF YOU'D LIKE. 2027 UPCOMING MOVIE PART 1 VIRTUES VS THE SINS - THESE CLIPS POSTED ON SEP 4, 2026 ABOUT THE MOVIE: Virtues Against Sins: This film is being produced gradually under the supervision of the Church. It will consist of three parts. The first part presents catechesis on the virtues that counter sins, based on the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church and the Doctors of the Church. Just as our Lord Jesus spoke in parables and used elements of nature and everyday life things and people. This movie will use elements of nature, humanoid (human like) monsters to represent the sins, and critters and insects to represent temptations. The first part will be composed of fantastical elements to describe how virtues oppose the sins within the soul, not outside but inside, the internal battle for holiness. The second part features real-life anecdotes addressing various life situations, as well as the crisis of faith within the Church. The third part will include mystical …Ibindi

Fr Edmund Waldstein, a monk and priest of Heiligenkreuz Abbey in Austria, will no longer teach moral theology at the abbey’s seminary. Rector Wolfgang Klausnitzer, 75, a diocesan priest, says Waldstein will not return to teaching during his tenure. Waldstein has defended the death penalty for heretics and Catholic integralism. He has now been removed from teaching and sent to Rome to pursue a further doctorate in philosophy. He has occasionally celebrated the Traditional Latin Mass.

Cardinal Domenico Battaglia, 63, of Naples, Italy, wrote the foreword to the book 'Transgender People'. He believes that the Church is called to "renew its gaze upon humanity". The book deals with “complex and sensitive issues,” he writes. His examples are “gender dysphoria, transgender identities, and life experiences that do not conform to traditional models.” This raises “profound questions - including for the Church.” Cardinal Battaglia proposes “a path not of condemnation, but of accompaniment”: “No one is excluded from God’s heart.” And: “No life is foreign to the mystery of salvation.” “Every person, every story - even those that seem distant or difficult to understand - carries within it the possibility of a revelation.” The book “reminds us that behind ideas there are people. People whom we must encounter, listen to, and accompany.” #newsUqdcmgjzfp
Three Detained After Police Raid Masonic Lodge in Madagascar: Madagascar is investigating a possible link between a Masonic lodge and a wave of disappearances and killings that has alarmed the country. Police raided the Étoile Australe lodge in Ivandry and detained three suspects, including an education official. Authorities reportedly found a coffin containing human remains, bladed objects, an altar and documents concerning rituals. A prosecutor said the possibility of a sacrifice was being considered and investigators were examining whether secret-society meetings could be connected to kidnappings. Nearly 200 disappearances had been reported by early August, although most of those missing were later found alive. Six were found dead. The investigation remains ongoing.

Isabel Vaughan-Spruce is being prosecuted again. The 48-year-old Catholic faces a new trial in January 2027 after pleading not guilty to interfering with an abortion clinic. Prosecutors say she stood inside a 150-metre buffer zone outside a Birmingham clinic on five occasions in 2025. Vaughan-Spruce replies she approached no one and simply prayed silently in her head. She was arrested over silent prayer in 2022 and 2023 and received a £13,000 police settlement in 2024. “Wherever we are permitted to be, our thoughts inevitably go with us,” she says. “Those thoughts should not be subject to censorship.” The new case is being brought under England’s national buffer-zone law.

Ezekiel 33:7-9 “If you warn the wicked to turn from their ways.” Let us allow people to discover that they are loved by God. Let us reveal to them the joy within them. Romans 13:8-10 “Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another.” Mutual love grows when we allow ourselves to be loved by God. Let us allow God’s love to flow from heart to heart. @spinmeister there's never anything you guys see that can be satisfying with the novus ordo, that's precisely why NOBODY listens to you guys when you talk your big "traditional ways" and your critical points on the matter on wayyyy more of the 90% of the catholic world, the novus ordo mass IS the mass and the Eucharist there is not false my dear @Ivan Tomas the Eucharist IS the Holy Flesh of God, there’s better ways to address the problems there, but heck, not even priests listens to your points, even less speaking like that... Anyways, I don’t know why I even reply when some of you are like walls, or like the men with stones ready to pounce the adulterous woman. Even that spinfraud guy comes, speaks his mind while having a block on me but whatever, not losing any sleep over it.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you Liturgy of September 6 - XXIII Sunday of the Ordinary Time Dear brothers and sisters, Jesus, in the passage from the Gospel of Matthew that we’re going to listen to on Sunday, September 6, invites us to take care of the spiritual health of our brothers and sisters. The bad news, at the beginning of this third millennium, it is the increasing of moral evil in the hearts of men with the consequent wounds inflicted on everyone, but especially on the poor and on the earth, above all by climate change and wars. The good news is that Jesus keep on giving to his Church, real Christians who, with their example, remind us that a new lifestyle inspired by the evangelical values such as the joy that comes from the encounter with God, the "taking care" of the poor, the respect for our beautiful planet earth and the commitment to built an universal brotherhood, it is not only possible, but amazing….
