The Feast of the Annunciation celebrates the Incarnation, when God became human through the Virgin Mary. This was necessary for Jesus to establish a new covenant by shedding His blood, as animal sacrifices could only cover up sins, not take them away. God’s love for humanity is the driving force behind this sacrifice, and our response should be to reciprocate that love by giving ourselves to Him.
