Angelo Gugel, the longtime papal valet who worked for three popes, has died in Rome at the age of 90, reports Vatican media. Appointed in 1978 by John Paul I, the “33-day pope,” Gugel went on to serve John Paul II throughout his nearly 27-year pontificate. He retired at the beginning of the papacy of Benedict XVI, at the age of 70. Known for his immaculate appearance, he preserved strict discretion even after retirement. From the Gendarmerie to the Papal Household Born on 27 April 1935 in Miane, in Italy’s Veneto region, Gugel joined the Vatican Gendarmerie at the age of 20. After a serious bout of tuberculosis, he was transferred to the administration of the Vatican City State. Albino Luciani, his former bishop in Vittorio Veneto and a family acquaintance, personally chose him as valet after being elected pope. When John Paul I died unexpectedly on 28 September 1978, Gugel was among the few people present in the papal bedroom. At the Pope’s Side Around the World Gugel accompanied John …Zambiri
Isaiah 49:3, 5-6 “He said to me, You are my servant, in you, Israel, I show my glory.” The Lord speaks to each person: You are the one I send to deliver my message of joy and peace. 1 Corinthians 1:1-3 “To you who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus.” This phrase is interesting. Let us remain in Christ, in the Love of God, and observe our lives and those around us becoming clearer and more peaceful. John 1:29-34 “Saint John the Baptist: ‘Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.’” The Lamb of God, pure and spotless, comes to teach us to remain in the Heart filled with the Love of God. It is the Love of God in the Lamb of God, Christ, who purifies us from evil. Let us continue to draw closer to God and away from evil. Biblical texts: NAB-RE Normand Thomas.
Fr Murray commenting on Synodality during the consistory: "It’s troubling that Synodality is still such a point of contention." And: "As Pope Francis envisions it, Synodality represents a continuing transformation within the Church."

Three days ago, I published an article titled Colored Revolution, in which I discussed the CIA and Mossad’s incitement of demonstrations against the Iranian government. On Thursday, an article appeared on mintpressnews.com: Revealed: The CIA-Backed NGOs Fueling the Iran protests. Established in 2006, Human Rights Activists in Iran is based in Fairfax, Virginia, just a stone’s throw away from CIA headquarters in Langley. It describes itself as a “non-political” association of activists dedicated to advancing freedom and rights in Iran. On its website, it notes that, “because the organization seeks to remain independent, it doesn’t accept financial aid from neither political groups nor governments.” Yet, in the same paragraph, it notes that “HRAI has also been accepting donations from National Endowment for Democracy, a non-profit, non-governmental organization in the United States of America.” The level …

Fri Jan 16, 2026 - 12:04 pm EST (LifeSiteNews) — On Thursday, January 22, the day before the National March for Life in Washington, D.C., Rescue Resurrection participants will gather outside Health and Human Services (HHS) headquarters at 200 Independence Ave SW to call on federal leadership — including Secretary Kennedy and the Trump administration — to take decisive action to restrict and ultimately ban the abortion pill. Many pro-life icons will be participating, and your presence is needed as well. “The pro-life movement in America is hanging by a thread, as far as having true political power to end the killing,” Randall Terry, Rescue Resurrection’s founder, told LifeSiteNews in a series of exclusive interviews. “The only thing that can turn that around is ‘social tension,’” he explained. “There’s no other blueprint or playbook in American and world history where you can presume that the powerful will roll over for the weak.” Terry should know. As founder of Operation Rescue …

Cardinal Michael Czerny, SJ, 79, said that during the consistory on 7-8 January, he did not hear anyone say, "Oh, I’m sorry we didn’t discuss the liturgy". He told the Substack.com-account The Pillar on 13 January, that what Leo XIV will do with the Mass of the Roman Rite is "beyond my pay grade": "I can’t speculate about how he intends to approach the situation. But I can’t imagine a pope who wouldn’t want to bring peace to the Church. I think every pope since St Peter would want that," the cardinal speculated. In general, he found the consistory a "healthy" exercise. "As soon as we got together and realised that the first thing we would do was spend the whole afternoon discussing it, we realised we were already at work. People immediately switched into gear. All three sessions were good." "Not Possible Without Pope Francis" When asked if the lack of collegiality among the cardinals wasn’t the elephant in the room under Francis, Cardinal Czerny denied it, saying: “No, quite the …Zambiri
Just as the democracy of the French Revolution destroyed the monarchy, synodality seeks to destroy the structure of the Church. As for the liturgy, it's understandable that they don't want to discuss it, since the traditional liturgy doesn't fit with modernist doctrine.
Breaking News Gut Cure: How to restore your microbiome so your body can do what it was designed to do Your gut microbiome acts as a command centre for digestion, immunity, metabolism and brain health; when microbial diversity drops, symptoms often go beyond digestion. Short-chain fatty acids (“SCFAs”), especially butyrate, are essential compounds made by healthy gut bacteria that help repair your gut lining, calm inflammation, stabilise blood sugar and support mental clarity. Modern diets heavy in seed oils (including linoleic acid), emulsifiers and ultra-processed foods disrupt beneficial bacteria and reduce butyrate production, leaving your gut undernourished even if you eat “healthy” foods. Simple changes, such as replacing seed oils with stable fats like butter, ghee or coconut oil, can lower inflammation, rebalance your microbiome and help your body begin healing from the inside out. A recent performance in Beirut of Father Guilherme Peixoto sparked opposition from some Christians in Lebanon. “Not all need to like what I’m doing, but they need to respect. It’s music to bring the church outside of the church,” he said.
1 Samuel 9:1-4, 10c, 17-19; 10:1 Samuel said to Saul, “The Lord anoints you ruler over his people Israel.” A reminder that it is better to lead a people with God’s love, joy, and peace. Mark 2:13-17 “Jesus went out along the sea. All the crowd came to him and he taught them.” The phrase “the whole crowd came to him” means more than just those people at that time. All crowds and leaders would benefit from allowing the Lord to reign over the people and in the hearts of the leaders. Biblical texts: NAB-RE Normand Thomas.
