Ecumenism sounds nice, but it does not work. Much dialogue has produced hardly any converts to Catholicis, while there have been countless apostate Catholics who have become non-Catholic.
Sorry, I don't buy it. Any pope worthy of the name is not merely a script-reader, and, if he can't discern that which is wrong (or 'wrongly phrased') he's on autopilot, and should recuse himself from his office.
