Mafia Not Excommunicated: Prison chaplain, Fr Marco Colonna, continues giving Holy Communion to 200 mafia inmates at Larino high-security prison in southern Italy, even after Pope Francis had "excommunicated" them. Quote: “After the pope's comments, some prisoners came to me and asked me if they should consider themselves excommunicated, saying that if they could no longer take the sacrament, they would stop coming to Mass." Colonna explained to them that the Church – quote – “doesn't kick anyone out” - (except – obviously - archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and other members of the Priestly Society of Pius X).
Three Requests: During his trip to the Philippines in January 2015 Pope Francis wants to visit earthquake and typhoon survivors.
