WOMAN OF SORROW by a Carmelite Nun The nun of today, In a mystical way, Must closely resemble God’s Mother; Her Sorrowful Heart Depicting the part Reserved for both one and the other. The Church, in Her Passion, Evokes our compassion, Her way being just like Our Lord’s; While Mary’s own place Is ours in this case, And also those sorrowful swords. The prophets of old Had often foretold The purpose of Christ’s Incarnation. Our Lady agreed, Though knowing, indeed, The outcome of such an oblation. “Dear Sister, will you?” He asked of us too. We also replied “Be it done”. A life of oblation Is now our vocation; The sorrowful way has begun. The pain was deferred Till, at Simeon’s word, The first of the swords came her way; And the cause of it all Was the final downfall Of many, which grieves us today. The Carmelite Nuns of the Holy Face in Ireland are a Traditional Roman Catholic community who follow the Primitive Rule of St. Albert and who are faithful to the unchanging Magisterium of the Catholic Church. This short video shows one of the Sisters insulating the new Cells and other aspects of our life in common and in solitude according to the Holy Rule of St. Albert. The cost of fully insulated cabin was outside our budget so we decided to do a DIY job. PLEASE HELP US TO BUILD ST. JOSEPH'S HERMITAGE. THE COST OF BUILDING MATERIAL HAS GONE VERY HIGH SINCE 2020.
