Size is not the problem. Russia has about 145 million people. What everyone needs to worry about is their strength and power the people have. They are resilient people who have gone through a lot. And their weapons which no one has. Power like nuclear but not as dangerous to the people and planet.
Remember they have been in actually war. They are extremely healthy and many are into sports and keeping fit.
I also believe strongly that the people of all ages will also take up arms. Because they love their country and their president very much. Their defense is also awesome.
