St. Alphonsus Liguori, Doctor of the Church (1787) He founded the missionary Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. He was forced to accept the bishopric of "St. Agatha of the Goths", near Naples. He composed a vast number of books filled with profound learning and piety. He died at 91.
