Several German Catholic dioceses have told De.CatholicNewsAgency.com on July 21 that they have no plans to expand the celebration of the Mass in the Roman rite. Virgin Mary Statue Survives Earthquake: A statue of the Virgin Mary remained unharmed after a 5.1-magnitude earthquake devastated the 16th-century Santiago Apóstol Parish church in Chupaca on the night of July 18. The quake caused the church's roof, façade, and altars to collapse, but the Marian statue was found intact amid the rubble. Mass Using the 1927 Vajs Missal: On 1 July, the Feast of the Most Precious Blood, a Mass according to the Croatian Glagolitic Rite was celebrated at St Michael's Parish, Belfield, Sydney. The liturgy, celebrated in Old Church Slavonic, was attended by hundreds of Croatian Australian Catholics. It was celebrated using the 1927 Vajs Missal, the last printed Glagolitic Missal.
