Michelle and I: U.S. President Obama has published a statement on Sunday’s canonizations. Quote: “Today, Michelle and I join Catholics around the world in celebrating the canonization of Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II.” According to Obama the two popes shaped not only the Catholic Church but the world. Quote: “We celebrate these Saints and the leadership of His Holiness Pope Francis, and we look forward to continuing to work with Pope Francis and Catholics around the world to advance peace and justice for all people.” Obama is also a big promoter of abortion and homosexualism.

Pope Benedict’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone has counterattacked after media accusations that he was preparing a lavish apartment for himself in the Vatican. Bertone pointed out that Pope Francis called him in support during the media campaign against him. He also stated that the apartment was renovated – quote – “at my expense”. It is given to him only temporarily and will be used afterwards by somebody else.

Catholic Teacher Killed: Monday, shortly before midday 61-year-old teacher Anne Maguire was repeatedly stabbed at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds. She died later in hospital. The police arrested a 15 year old male pupil. The victim was described by many as a "mother figure" at the school. She had been teaching Spanish and Religious Studies for 40 years. There is no information available about the alleged killer.

Reconciliation: Baker Bishop Liam Cary has posted a statement on the diocesan website asking former Father James Radloff to reconsider his decision to join a Evangelical Catholic Church. Quote: “I have written Father Radloff to encourage him to reconsider his decision.” And: “The doors of the Church are open to his return. I am hopeful that he will choose to walk through them into reconciliation and peace.” According to the National Catholic Reporter it is unlikely that Radloff will come back.
