Koran in the Vatican: Pope Francis hosted on Sunday Palestinian and Israeli leaders Mahmoud Abbas and Shimon Peres within a peace meeting. During the ceremony for the first time the Holy Koran was recited in the Vatican. Yesterday Pope Francis cancelled his audiences until further notice. Vatican speaker, Fr Federico Lombardi commented that the pope is – quote – “a bit tired”.

Innocent: 67-year-old Philadelphia Monsignor Joseph L. Logrip has been cleared of bogus sexual abuse accusations that kept him under suspicion for more than three years. He was among the two dozen priests placed on administrative leave in 2011. While on administrative leave, priests are not permitted to exercise their public ministry, administer any of the Sacraments, or present themselves publicly as priests. No information was available on whether Monsignor Logrip will receive compensation for the wrong suffered.

UK Gay Consulates: The Hong Kong government has refused to allow homosexual couples to marry at the British consulate in the city, UK officials said on Monday. The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office announced last week that it would allow its overseas missions to perform gay marriages for Britons and their associates in countries where it is illegal under local laws.

Idol Worship: Israeli Rabbis have complained that on Sunday and Monday a Greek Orthodox liturgy was celebrated in the David’s Tomb in Jerusalem, a building that was taken away from the Moslems in 1948. Arutz Sheva refers to Catholic worship saying that because of its use of effigies it falls according to Jewish law under idol-worship. The channel also quotes a certain female rabbi Yocheved Grossman who reported – quote - a great sense of pain when hearing the chants of Catholic prayer – which in reality were Greek Orthodox.
