Moving Encounter: During yesterday’s general audience Pope Francis had a moving encounter with a young man suffering from Down syndrome. The disabled man kissed the Pope, stroke his cheek, rubbed his head and kissed his pectoral cross while Francis was bending down. During the rest of the audience the Pope was struggling with the winds. His mozzetta blew across his body. At one point a pink balloon floated across the crowd obscuring his face.
Fighting Double Moral Standards: Cleveland diocese is requiring its teachers to sign a contract specifying prohibited violations of Catholic doctrine such as homosexual activity and artificial insemination. The contract for teachers at more than 100 elementary schools is similar to one the Archdiocese of Cincinnati is requiring its teachers to sign.
