Distorted Pope: Denver Archbishop Samuel Aquila told KNUS radio host Dan Caplis last week that the media is distorting Pope Fancis. Quote: “The media never reports on his very real support for Catholic teaching.” Aquila gives an example: “He's one of the few popes, at least in my lifetime, who has referred to the devil in his homilies and catechesis. Rarely do you hear the secular media reporting on that - that there is evil in the world.”

The Evil of Gay Unions: Monrovia Archbishop Lewis Zeigler has spoken out against ills that have the potential to reduce Liberia to the rubbles once again. Among several wayward activities he says that could dampen the country's progress are same sex marriage. Zeigler served as keynote speaker at last Friday's National Fast and Prayer Day hosted by the Liberia Council of Churches.

'Club Deportivo Papa Francisco' is a soccer club in the outskirts of Buenos Aires inspired by Pope Francis. It gathers youngsters in order to remove them from street violence. The Club uses the Vatican colours: white and gold. Its motto: “no hooligan, no violence and no insults”. The first game was however a disaster. Two players received the red card. Another commented: “Things turn complicated when one starts to insult the adversary, but the Pope is Argentinean and he understands us.”

Monday, Syrian troops liberated the ancient Christian town of Maaloula from terrorists backed by the Western powers. Residents who had not fled Maaloula in previous fighting were now to be found here and they may be dead. Picturesque Maaloula is considered an important symbol of the ancient Christian presence in Syria. After the town was captured 13 nuns were seized from the Mar Takla Greek Orthodox convent and held by Al-Qaeda-affiliated fighters until a prisoner swap in March.

The liberation theologians priority is focus on a false messianism and humanism focused on the material needs of this world and not the spiritual need of the next life. That is why Francis is negligent by not calling the "poor sinners" to repentance.

If liberacionistans have perverted the meaning of Christ of course they also perverted the concept of the devil; because the devil only exists for them when they need to intimidate and threaten us; because most of them deny that there are people in Hell. 🤦

liberation theologians openly tried to
change the focus of religious thought, from concern about the next
life to concern about this one. Liberation theologians hotly dispute
the notion that they are interested only in the material progress of
man (O'Hare, 1990; 111, for example). Nevertheless, liberation
theology clearly rejected what it constantly called the traditional
Church's preoccupation with matters of faith, morals and getting to
heaven.
....1991, Jon Sobrino
defined sin as unjust social structure 🤦 This sound Familiar!!!!! 🤦

"Redemption is liberation in the strongest sense of the word, since it is liberation from sin" (Ratzinger, 1986: para. 3).

"Lopez Trujillo pointed out that except for analysts using Marxist categories, the division between the exploited and exploiters is not so clearly marked in the first place. For Catholics, everyone, both rich and poor, are pilgrims and sinners before the Eucharist (1980: 254).
By contrast, the liberationists are exclusionary, a point that their critics make frequently. Ratzinger wrote in 1986: "the special option for the poor, far from being a sign of particularism or sectarianism, manifests the universality of the Church's being and mission. This option excludes no one. "All human beings are poor. All people need spiritual sustenance; some need material sustenance also (1986: para. 68). "

"Respecting traditional devotions
Liberationists, for all their talk of "preferential option," do not really listen to the poor. Supporters of liberation theology openly accept this point. Daniel Levine, for example, says that "serving as the 'voice for the voiceless' is not the same as listening to what the hitherto voiceless may have to say" (1990a: 71). Enrique Dussel voices a common attitude among liberationists when he says: "After having tried to lose themselves within the people, to identify with the people, [liberationists] come to understand that they must shake the people" (Burchaell, 1988: 266).

Cardinal Ratzinger has noted that the natural inclination of most poor Latin Americans is toward religious attitudes and cultural priorities that the liberationists reject. He wrote in the 1986 Instruction: "It is the poor, the object of God's special love, who understand best and as it were instinctively that the most radical liberation, which is liberation from sin and death, is the liberation accomplished by the death and resurrection of Christ."

This sensus fidei [Ratzinger uses the traditional term] means that to truly listen to the poor means accepting acts of traditional piety, often most prevalent among the poor, even if they seem old-fashioned or distinctly non-revolutionary. Again, the liberationists fail to live up to their own standards. Rather than "serving as the voice for the voiceless," they seek to misdirect such popular piety toward an earthly plan of liberation. This, writes Ratzinger, leads the poor to another form of slavery, and is a "criminal" act (1986: para. 22, 98).

There is, at the moment, a big hype in the Church about the poor. So why do we not much listen to them when they warn us about homosexual marriage? Homosexual marriage is exclusively promoted by rich bishops from rich countries.
